Description

Reporting directly to: Project Manager and President
Working in collaboration with the Administrative Foreman and other carpenters-joiners.

• Erect wall, floor and roof framing; installs exterior siding and insulation; installs exterior windows and doors
• Construct forms and pour deep foundations
• Build dividing walls and mount interior finishing components (interior doors, mouldings, storage spaces, etc.)
• Build wooden stairs and install wood flooring
• Install built-in furnishings (counter tops, cabinets, shelves, etc.)
• Trace, cut, assemble and shape wood and metal parts

Requirements

• Must have completed 3 apprenticeship periods of 2,000 hours each (6,000 hours total).
• Must have successfully completed the qualifying examination and hold a Journeyperson Certificate of Qualification in the trade
• Must have completed the Occupational Health and Safety course and hold a training certification card
• Must have 2 to 3 years of experience in commercial and institutional construction
• Demonstrate versatility and autonomy
• Able to work in a team
• Knowledge and ability to use a wide variety of tools and safety equipment, and work on scaffolding.
• Be in good physical condition

Working Conditions

• Permanent position of 40 hours per week
• Day and evening hours
• Salary according to the collective agreement for the institutional and commercial sector
• 4 weeks vacation according to the construction schedule
