Robert Mitchell inc.
This Montreal-based metal processing and manufacturing company turned to VF to transform an old paint warehouse/workshop into a magnificent vintage industrial-styled cafeteria. Staff now has access to an attractive and inviting lunch area!
The project kicked off with the demolition of several spraying rooms and lots of hoisting equipment that used to be used to handle heavy parts. The concrete slab was then grinded down to get rid of paint residues and any existing damage. Lastly, the flooring was completed by adding an epoxy layering with a granite-like finish.
New windows were put in to offer better thermal resistance and to give way to natural lighting. The ceilings were revamped and new electrical and HVAC systems were installed to adapt to the space’s new function. All the finishings were redone, except for the two outside walls that were sand blasted to unveil the underlying red brick that gives the cafeteria its vintage appeal. To top it off, new cabinetry was installed.
